    Does anyone know of anyone selling a 2.4!!!!
    I believe my engine is going in my cavalier.... Hopefully its just the valvetrain but anyways if someone can find/know of anyone selling a 2.4 i will be more than happy to do a tutorial on the "hybrid swap"

    I want to be 102% clear on this: All 2000-2006 2.2's are identical, right? A J-body ecm can run an Ion 2.2 without issue?

    '07 2.2's use a different reluctor ring, and wont work without a standalone? Can the reluctor ring be swapped out easily?

    from what I understand, the reluctor wheels on the 07+ cranks are cast in, and cannot be removed.

    a J-body ECM can run a '06 and older L61 Ion motor. there are just external differences (fueling, mounts, etc.).

    So if one was gonna use Megasquirt or AEM EMS they could run a 2.4 crank/rods/pistons in an L61 long block?

    Yes an LE5 bottom end swap is MUCH easier in an 07-08 car, as the 2nd gen L61's(07-up) use a 58x system and C.O.P ignition.

    If/when the Trifecta/CIA tune is available, you absolutely should be able to drop a 2.4L L61 in something. I'd like to do that to my car honestly.

    ^LOL....Maven I know you havent done this but in theory what type of gains could be expected from this, just a ball park figure. And what does this setup do to make more power/torque? ex. raise comp, lower compr.
    It'S OFFICIAL IM NOW AN ECOTEC OWNER ....
    Tsudo Header, custom intake, racetronix FP, All Poly mounts, Tokico Dspecs, eibach sportlines.....

    It all depends on the tune and build with a combo like this, but a 2.4L L61 should be good for 175hp with a proper tune and simple bolt ons. 200hp would be readily attainable with all the good stuff and still be totally streetable.
