    Well if been working on a lot of other things the last 2 weeks but I'm gonna start working on this again. I haven't been able to track down a valve spring tool that works on these heads yet so I'm gonna make one tomorrow then I can really get serious and get the port work done. Also iv come up with a question for the experts on here so here we go. I asked a while back about the strength of the 2.4 in 09 and I was told it should be good for my power goal of 300hp but after doing some reading and finding more info on the rods after 08 being powder and no stronger then the 2.2 I'm now wondering if I should be changing them. Unless someone has some more resent info on this?

    The last thing I remember hearing was from Qwibby, and he said that the rods from '06 and early '07 were strong enough for 325HP. The rods after that are weak.

    Well i can pick up the forged 06 rods local for 40 each so thats getting done for sure, also i got the valves out today so im gonna get going on the porting now.

    Well i havent had much time latley to get anywere.. the truck broke so that took over my time and work is crazy this time of year . I did manage to tear the 2.4 down to a short block and it looks amazing inside, super clean and in great shape so thats good news, if anyone is interested in the le5 head complete let me know. Also iv done a lil more work on the l61 head, its fully stripped and the exhaust side is like 70% ported. Also a change in plannes has come up. Iv desided to run megasquirt 2 stand alone when i swap the motor out so no hptuners.. i think its a better option but my experiences with either is minimal. Iv got some pics to of the motor and head but havent hosted images on here in a while so ill have to play with that

    Sorry about the shitty pics, my phone got dropped in water and has never been the same. I have made good headway on the head, some of the pics are old but at this point the exhaust is done and the intake is like 40%. Also the block is on a stand and stripped of all the parts i dont need. At this time i still need a head gasket, plugs, balence shaft bushing , and rods. Megasquirt2 and wideband are on the way. On the plugs i have a question, id like to pic up colder plugs now but cant seen to find part numbers, what plugs are u running?

    Port job is finished, came out well iv got to finish lapping the valves in monday and clean and reassemble it, then ill start on the le5 short block, ill take some desent pics befor i bag the head up

    Ok well the ms2 and aem eugo came yesterday, also picked up a edis4 to run the spark. The head is almost totally reassembled. Im gonna switch my focus to getting the megasquirt in and running on the l61 befor swapping then once its got a bass tune in it and iv had some time to play and learn ill swap the le61 in. Hopeing to swap the motor out around christmas

    Heads on and the valve train is all reinstalled, still need chain tentioner and balanceshaft delete. Also installed the AEM EUGO and am 3/4 of the way threw assembling the ms2

    Widebands in, ms2 is built and truck is being rewired and set up next weekend. As for the motor its all together except for the timing chain and balance shafts
