We had a great weekend at Joliet (Autobahn) winning class B and finishing 6th overall in a field of over 80 cars!
We made a lot of ground running long stints, 22 Gallon fuel cell gives us almost 4 hours but with temperatures in the mid 90s it was tough going.

Good work! Feel any need for more mods or is it right where you want it?

Don't worry nothing will be done until it's too late, there is money to be made.
Maximum profit and overpopulation will ruin all the major economies.

We have been discussing this, right now we can run 3.5 hours maybe even 4 if we don't push too hard and leave it in 4th a lot. This costs a couple of seconds a lap but saves one or two fuel stops. If we add turbo or supercharger we will end up in the same boat as the camaros, BMWs and mustangs that we can beat on strategy now. That said another 20 hp would be nice as most fast cars are on 2-2.5 hr stints anyway. Not sure how to achieve that with the L61, maybe time for a NA 2.4.

NA2.4 may be the only way. The 2.4 intake swap nets just 13hp with a loss of torque in the 3.5 to 4.5rpm(that is 10lbs/ft).

We had another successful race this past weekend at Barber Motorsport Park in Birmingham Alabama finishing 2nd overall in a field of 110 cars! The little L61 has just the right combination of power and fuel economy, we ran 2 x 3hrs 45 minute stints for one pit stop on Saturday while the other teams stopped at least twice some three times. Sunday there was a compulsory one hour break after just 2 hours followed by a five hour final session so we were forced to stop twice losing some of the advantage but still hung onto second.0109-DSC_0032.jpg

Again: good job! Any thoughts on what could be changed or needed? Or is it just the way you want it?

I think it's time for an LE5, similar fuel consumption more HP! We are finishing well mostly due to faster cars having problems, I'd rather be able to run a little faster and have more power to get out of trouble.

I can sure understand that! Keep us(think it's still us, so few left) up to date.
