    Tuning info

I've been searching around for awhile for some info on tuning my 2006 cobalt Lt 2.2L. I have parts laying around ready to install, but I can't find a way to tune it so I'm waiting.

Did I waste my money buying parts or is there a tuning option without dropping a ton of money?

Trifecta is probably your best bet.

I think this is their site: http://trifectaperformance.com/trifecta/

I have emailed them on a rough idea of what they would change tuning wise and haven't heard back from them. Its been over 2 months. And I have a decent pile of parts waiting on a tune for install.

I don't know what Trifecta's capabilities are, but HP Tuners can't be used on 05-06 2.2L Cobalts. A PCM swap would be needed.

How hard is a PCM swap? And what PCM would I use?

I would imagine it will require an engine harness swap. I don't know enough about the delta's to know if there are different harness layouts that would require you to use one or the other, but I would think not. A 2007-2008 2.2L harness/PCM should work, but I don't know if the BCM changed from '06-'07 which could be a deal breaker, so maybe one of the delta guys could chime in to confirm or deny my information. Also, you could poke around cobaltss.net for this information, if you do, stop back and let us know what you find.

There is an AllData post floating around. ask to get the ECM pin outs on your model year and one that can be tuned with HPT and see if they are compatible. GM did a lot of consolidating of parts equipment when they reorganized. You might get lucky. I have a Cobalt, but its the grocery getter and I only mess with it for maintenance.
