    The engine has 135k miles on it. I guess it would be a good idea to change the timing chain assembly while it is out before the install in my truck. Any thing else that would be recommended?

    I did find out that there was a stand alone box for a 4l80e transmission on 91-? Diesel engines. Found the information from several sources, but just that these boxes did exist. If- when I find more info on this I will post it... I have read on a few posts on a couple of treads with a lot of good info... I just need cooler weather and to get off my 3utt and get moving...lol I will keep doing research even if I do go manual transmission.

    I did see that Chevrolet and Cadillac use a v6(60 deg?) that makes 300+ horsepower. Not a ecotec and it is a direct injection engine. I am a old diesel mechanic and wondered when this would happen.
