There are separate tunes for the automatic and manual transmission equipped engines. Yours most likely has the automatic tune, or "flash," but a dealership can put the other tune on your ECM. I don't know if every dealer will do it for you, but there are probably some out there.

I understand the flash part, but thanks for that. Can they just do it to the ecm by it's self?

Now I have to strip all the stuff out of my Vue. I am going to get the rear view mirror.!!! Does it have some kind of "immobilizer" in the ecu. We had that problem with the later model VW's. Made it a real PITA.

In kicking around my old MegaSquirt handouts I found MegaShift. A standalone controller for 4l60e and 4l80e, it can be used with other MS setups. Around $260 to do it. Still checking stuff out.

When converting to a manual transmission setup what do I need, flywheel from ? Clutch assy from ? Throw out bearing from?
Inquiring minds want to know. Seems to be more than one way to go.

If you're switching to manual transmission, you'll need the flywheel, pressure-plate, and clutch from a 2.4L equipped Solstice/Sky. These parts will work with a GM World Class T5 or a GM-style TKO-X00 transmission in addition to the Solstice/Sky AR5 manual transmission. For the hydraulic TOB, use one that will work on a T5 or TKO-X00.

There are several bell housing available now,but I am thinking about using the one from quad4rods. This bell housing will mount the transmission in a upright position. I do not know if that will cause a problem, but I do not think so. Shifter location makes we wonder. I took some rough measurements using 20"x20"x25" with 25" being the hight. It all looks good so far, but a transmission and bell housing could make a difference. I will ask quad4rods about the dimensions. The are very good in responding to questions.

Since when?! It was always like pulling teeth out of a Siberian tiger to get them to even respond to my questions with three word sentence fragments. LOL!

I'm glad they're at least helpful with you.

LOL! Yeah, that sounds more like them. If you do buy the bellhousing from them, don't expect ANY response to questions after your purchase. Don't get me wrong, I'd do business with them again, and I probably will, in the future, but their customer service sucks donkey balls.
