    07 Camshaft Sensor Allignment

I have an 07 l61, so when I do my cam swap, I need to have the cam trimmed, and the sensor pressed on. I know the topic has been beaten to death, but I have never seen this specific topic discussed.

Does the sensor "learn", or does it need to be clocked a certain way? I assume it needs to be clocked, which brings me to the next question.

Does it need to be lined up with the new lobes, or in the same orientation to the timing marks? When I eyeball it now, the notches on the sensor line up just off center with the center of the lobes (so the space just next to the sensor notches is centered, not the exact edge). Should I realign the sensor with the lobes on the new cam, or orient it at the same angle with the cam gear. I'm not sure how much the degree would be off between the 2, but this has been driving me crazy.

Ray Bates has done a few, but it is very expensive for what is actually being done (and all the Bates info is MIA). I have the means of doing this myself, I just need to know how to align the sensor.

    Any Input?

    Edit:
I assume LSA and Valve timing are the same. correct me if I'm wrong
The 07 l61 intake cam has 116* timing, and the zzp s2 blower cams are listed as 111* (I assume that is the intake). "ZZP S2 is 216/218 @ 1mm and 10.78mm/10.69mm lift, 111 LSA"
Stock lsj intake is 100*, so that makes sense

I was thinking about the lsj camshaft sensor. When you install the sensor into the cam, it needs to be oriented a certain way. Does anyone know if the aftermarket cams hex'ed end is the same orientation as stock? that would answer my question simply haha. I hope that makes sense.

Also, if the sensor were off, say 2 degrees, could that be made up for in tuning? Lets use 20* advance as an easy example. If the sensor were retarded 2*, and I tuned for 22*, would that come out to 20* actual timing? or advanced 2* with 18* advance. I am just trying to see if i have a small margin of error when pressing the sensor on. I am not quite sure what else the cam sensor has an influence on. Anyone have any input?

EDIT: turns out the lnf uses the same style sensors. Maybe zzp will be able to answer some questions.
