P 0113 - ait (air intake temp) sensor, symptoms are poor gas milage, stalling (intermittantly if automatic), trans banging into gear (automatic), check engine light on and off (sporatic). 1st thing to check if your have this fault is your iat sensor.remove plug (harness to engine wiring) from iat sensor. ck the wiring visually. if all ok then tug gently on the wires separatly.if one or more wires have excess play you need a new sensor connector (like 5-10 bucks from gm). get connector disconnect battery and splice it in, make sure to solder your wiring splice (very important).

this happened to me and i was freeking out i thought i need a trans it banged so badly. i checked the fault memory and had p0113 set and it would not clear (hard fault, not sporatic). talked to an ex- corvette z06 tech and he told me about this fix. it is a very common gm problem and a very cheap fix.

hope this helps someone down the road.

Are you talking about like when the car bogs when you try to accelerate fast and/or won't shift pass 4000 RPMs?

yeah a little of both...now that you mention it. the wire breaks internally and loses contact intermitantly. the bogging when you accelerate hard from a stop has to do with the torque converter slipping in order to stop your tires from loosing traction (but that only started after i installed my exhaust or at least thats when i can really hear it go blop blop blop).i repaired my iat sensor and it still does the bogging thing. damn 4t40e... i wish mine was stick !

I think it's just the nature of the beast... the bogging seems to only happen to me when im turning up or down and incline (like out of a shopping center or something). when im on an even surface i just get some wheel hop.

I put this together for redline and cobalt owners. copied my entire copy of the redline service manual from gm and put it here: http://manual.lsjowners.com/
this is the best part. has wiring diagrams and all, but is more than likely not the same as cavies, sunfires etc. also have computerized manuals for every other gm car 1980 and up
pm me if anyone needs anything!
