    Fuzzy's '08 WRX Awesomesauce Build

Since someone told me I should do this even though it's not Ecotec based, here we go.

People probably already know I bought her back at the end of March so I'd have a reliable car and be able to daily drive her to and from work (an hour drive each way) and to and from clients' sites for work. She had 55,000 miles on her when I picked her up, and only a Cobb Catback, Kartboy Short Throw Shifter, and Rally Armor Mudflaps for mods. She was unmolested, she was mine, and she was going to stay that way (or so I thought).

Obviously there's always a thing or two we want to do here or there to personalize our car, but having a box of parts ordered the day you buy it should have told me I was in for more than I bargained for, but more importantly I was in for some fun! Unlike my previous cars, because this one didn't have any mods done to it I was able to decide what I wanted to do myself rather than relying on other peoples' work. It also meant it was finally time for me to learn more about my car, because I was forced to if I wanted to do anything.

Unfortunately after more than four months of driving back and forth to work and to on-sites, she sat at nearly 70,000 miles. I was then offered a position to work at home which for many reasons is bittersweet. I accepted, and related to the car unfortunately I don't get to drive her as much as I'd like, but at the same time I don't rack up as many miles (15,000 miles in four to five months is ridiculous!).

Well, enough of me rambling...onto what everyone wants to see.

2008 Subaru WRX Hatchback Base Model (Dark Grey Metallic - a sexy color)

Here she is the day I picked her up (pictures stolen from the for sale thread)

And here's how she mostly sits now (winter wheels/tires are on and the red-outer layer of the taillight vinyl is on).

And now really onto what people want to see.

So there it is, take it or leave it. I'll keep updating as I do things here or there, but mostly now it will be installing parts when the weather gets warm again rather than buying more and more parts. Not super exciting, but again, since I was told to share it I figured I would - she makes me happy

I hope to continue to daily drive her for as long as she'll let me, and hopefully I'll get started in some autocross this year that I'll be able to take her out for. Other than that, I just have to actually start installing parts so I can get something out of all this money I've spent

I'm not sure if I should take that as a compliment or insult, but thanks!

Wow more mods than I thought! I'm happy you can work from home now, all that driving was just wrong. Well unless you had a Smart car or a Fiat 500(lol).

Well, it's cold and I don't have a heated garage, so it's hoarding season for me. I'm not sure what my excuse was last summer/fall when it was still warm and I was hoarding, but that's the excuse I'm using for now lol

I hope that crank pulley has a rubber ring in it. Or you may hurt your bearings.

Oh really? Why is that? I've just never heard of that before. I know GS makes AWESOME products (as in they're my favorite brand and I wish they made more stuff), and I don't think they'd compromise something like that as it would tarnish the name some.
