    P0121

05 Cobalt with 430,000 on it.
    Have P0121 code.
Where is this Throttle Position sensor located ?
Symptoms are hesitation (idles good) and hard shifting(automatic) when the check engine light comes on.
If I clear the codes it is good for 15-20 miles before it comes back on.
    Thanks.

Its part of the throttle body on the electronic ones. You could just have a dirty throttle body, actually I take that back, if you have 400k miles on the car you will have a dirty throttle body.

Sorry guys... I goofed...it is an accelerator pedal position sensor code.
I don't think the 2.2 has a TPS...I think only the turbo 2.0 has one.
Anyway I found the APP sensor....it is part of the gas pedal assembly....you have to buy the pedal with the sensor.
I found a few online for around $70 so I will replace it.
I have cleaned the throttle body, but will do it again...won't hurt with over 400K on it.
    Thanks all.

With any luck the old beast will make it to 500 K.....pretty impressive for a Cobalt in my opinion.

    Smile Million Mile Motor

    I didn't know that.
I was just out to prove that a Cobalt was every bit as good as a Toyota Corolla.
    Thanks

Replaced the APP sensor....now I have a CO700 pending....makes no sense as it does not have ABS brakes and that is the code for ABS malfunction.
AND.....the CEL is back on with code P0121 which is the APP sensor which I just replaced.
Checked connections at pedal and behind the kick panel on drivers side.
    Any suggestions ?
    Thanks.
