    1.8L ecotec engine

can a US ecm say from a L61 or something like that be programmed to run a 1.8L ecotec from a 2000 vauxhall uk spec engine, or should i just keep on looking for a l61 engine?

how much different is the Uk spec ecotec engine from the us spec,
do you think a US spec harness would work on the engine or should i wait to find a US spec engine?

    i have found a 2000 1.8L for $225

    thanks

They are engines of two different origins. That doesn't really answer your question, but keep in mind the engines themselves are generally not interchangeable. The intake and exhaust are on oppsite sides of the engine for starters. I think there are some accessory differences too, and possiblely mounting.

Like old school said. 2 different engines. Different architecture all together. The only thing they share is the ecotec name.

The 1.8 is not an ecotec, the name is a lie.
